A collaborative project between MSR on Wheels and the Ziv Department of Emergency Medicine
The pediatric trauma workshop at the Ziv Medical Center in Zefat was designed to enhance the management and treatment of children whose lives are in danger. Dr Dana Krupnik, director of Pediatric Emergency Department at Ziv and the MSR team developed the workshop to specifically fit the needs and resources of the Ziv Hospital.
Dr Krupnik chose six of the Emergency Medicine team to participate in a faculty development training workshop to prepare them to lead the training at Ziv. They first learned how to develop simulation-based scenarios and then to pilot them and revise as needed.
Following this, a two-day train the trainer session was conducted by MSR on Wheels at the Ziv Emergency Medicine Department. The first day was devoted to training the instructors in the use of simulation in training and the second day the instructors conducted the training utilizing their newly developed scenarios and mentored by a team of instructors from MSR.
The positive feedback and high satisfaction of both the trainees and the trainers, open a window to continued fruitful collaboration between MSR and Ziv Medical Center to improve the quality of care and patient safety.
