In collaboration with the National Institute for Testing and Evaluation (NITE), MSR provides simulation-based humanistic screening of medical school candidates.

Recognizing the limitations of previous standardized tests in selecting those candidates with better humanistic and communication skills, this process serves as a supplement to the previous methods of assessment.  This innovative program highlights those that demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills and capacity for compassion in an effort to improve the selection of the physicians of tomorrow. Click for more ...

Donation to MSR

Medical teams from Israel and around the world come to MSR to participate in simulation based training programs to improve their clinical and communication skills.

This experiential form of training enables a participatory, structured and safe learning experience that is video-taped and debriefed, with immediate feedback given to the participants, and without placing patients at risk. The training approach applied at MSR makes extensive use of a wide range of simulation approaches, and integrates both individual and team training. Click for more....

This simulator has special capabilities:

  •  Monitoring blood oxygen with a real Fingertip Pulse

        Oximeter.

  • Allows for a lot of bleeding from an internal container.

  • Injuries causing diffused bleeding.

  • Physiological reaction to pressure on the wound causing

       bleeding stoppage.

  • Able to emit CO2 to measure Real capnography.

  • The simulator is water and heat resistant

  • Performing a 12 lead ECG, Including special software

allowing very detailed and accurate ECG changes.

  • The simulator is water and heat resistant

  • The simulator is wireless.

  • The simulator is completely wireless and includes an internal high powered battery.

The simulator will serve MSR in a wide range of training in future years. Click for MSR's simulators

Overview

Cataracts are one of the most commonly occurring conditions, affecting some 50% of people over 65 worldwide. Until now, interns and ophthalmologists have practiced performing cataract surgery on patients, with no margin for error, as part of their training.

Course Description and Objectives

The Association of Ophthalmologists, MSR-Israel Center for Medical Simulation, and Lapidot Medical, Ltd., have jointly developed a simulation-based training program to improve cataract surgery skills. Course participants practice surgical techniques on specialized task trainers simulating eyes fitted with various cataract types. For more information, click
